It’s my Cele-versary - two years since the Attorney-General’s Department let me come on board as a Registered Marriage Celebrant!
Looking back over the amazing marriages I’ve been so honoured to ‘celebrant’ in that time, I noticed a few trends.
The marriage ceremonies I do are:
Intimate
Elopements are by far my most popular package, and even the weddings I do have a relaxed, chilled vibe - one of my couples called it an ‘elopement-plus’!
Non-traditional
Only one of my ceremonies has ever featured a ‘wedding party’ - and this was the groom’s adult son and the bride’s adult daughters who walked the couple’s dogs down the aisle.
In very cool places
I’ve married most of my couples in gorgeous public areas like parks, gardens, and the beach.
The rest were mostly outside in private spaces like elopements at AirBnBs in beautiful settings, and one couple’s backyard.
I’ve also married one couple with no ceremony, just the legals, in a cafe over our morning coffees.
Shared with only the best people
My couples nearly always choose close family members (with Mums being the most-popular choice) or their very best mates to be witnesses.
For top-secret elopements, some awesome photographers have stepped up to be witnesses too - mostly Kat at Red Eclectic who took most of the pics in this post!
Huge thanks and big love to all my couples so far!
Think I could be the celebrant for you?
